Have you played Pokémon Go?
Pokémon Go is an example of Augmented Reality (AR). You use your phone or tablet’s camera to scan your surroundings and the app places animated Pokémon characters into the scene around you.
Using augmented reality to capture Pokémon is great fun… but there are also ways of putting AR to work for your business.
Keep customers engaged and costs low
Augmented reality allows for dynamic content. This can be video and audio, animation or 3D models. It is also interactive, allowing you to use buttons, pop-ups or elemets that respond to the environment or the user.
An AR experience can be triggered by a ‘target image’. At Print 2 Media, we are able to turn your sign into a target image that, when scanned with the free app, comes to life.
This means you can incorporate more content into a simple printed sign, minimising the number of signs required. It also provides a much more engaging experience for your customer – keeping them on-site for longer and increasing the likelihood they will buy from you and not a competitor.

For more of a detailed run-down on the how and the why of AR, take a look at our Augmented Reality product page.
On that page, you will see an example target image that you can scan with the Zappar app for a simple, live example of AR in action.
