Premium signs with a brushed aluminium metal finish

Brushed metal, such as aluminium, has been a popular surface finish in kitchens and similar environments for a number of years. This sleek, modern finish is now available for signage.

Like our standard dibond product, brushed aluminium dibond is a composite aluminium material, sometimes called Aluminium Composite Panel or ACP. The brushed aluminium effect can also be referred to as ‘butler finish’.

Brushed aluminium dibond is rigid and extremely strong but very lightweight. It comes in 3mm thick panels with a polyethylene core and a brushed aluminium facing sheet.

We can print to the brushed aluminium face at high resolution, just as we can with any of the other substrates we print to. The grain of the brush strokes in the metal show through the printed inks, giving a pleasing effect that stands apart from traditional print on a flat smooth surface.

And of course, where there is no ink, you will see the full effect of the brushed aluminium.

Optional white ink printing

Because the metal surface is not white, printed colours will look a little more dull or translucent than they otherwise would. Depending on your artwork, this may or may not be desirable.

If you want to ensure vivid colours then we can spot print white ink below the coloured inks. This ensures they are as bold as if they were printed on a white material whilst retaining some of the brushed metal texture. Areas with no coloured ink will not receive any white ink, leaving the beautiful brushed metal exposed.

Contour cut

We can cut brushed aluminium dibond to any shape on our industry-leading CNC router. This includes interior cuts to create windows or slots. Just choose the ‘Contour cut’ option from the form above and supply artwork with vector cut paths that describe where you would like the cuts.
